AGL Resources Named a Top 10 Workplace for Second Year

For the second year and counting,
AGL Resources has made the impressive top 10 list of Atlanta’s Best Places to Work, ranking sixth among companies with over 500 employees. Just last year, as a first-time participant in the Atlanta Business Chronicle and Quantum Workplace survey, AGL Resources ranked tenth.
Each year, the Atlanta Business Chronicle and Quantum Workplace survey metro companies to find those that have discovered how to be among “Atlanta’s best places to work.” The results of the survey are based solely on data collected from employees. Nearly 400 Atlanta companies and organizations were nominated for the honor in 2010.
“It was a proud moment in 2009 when we were selected as one of the top 10 companies. Knowing that in 2010 we progressed up through the ranks to sixth place among large companies selected for this prestigious award, I feel both proud and reassured,” says
Melanie Platt, senior vice president, Human Resources. “I’m proud because the award speaks volumes about the way our employees feel about the company -- and reassured to know to that each of us believes that we are doing the right things to grow our business and help our employees be the best that they can be.”
Employees were polled by Quantum Workplace through online surveys. The results were analyzed to rank the top employers in three categories: large, medium and small companies.
